About the role:|
The role of the Economist is to ensure that Severn Trent can realise the benefits of the new regulatory framework. This will be achieved by both positively influencing its development for the mutual benefit of customers and investors and ensuring that the business understands the implications of any new policies. Severn Trent has become known for its thought leadership in this space and this role is expected to continue the development of the reputation in this area.
You will be required to analyse the impact and consequence of different regulatory policies and working with colleagues across the business to ensure that the policies are understood, to provide regulatory expertise and advice to the wider Severn Trent business and support the delivery of the Business Plan.
To be successful in this role it is vital you have direct experience of working with regulators - or within a utility regulator - at both a strategic and operational level, knowledge of utility regulation and/or competition law and experience of building effective working relationships with a diverse range of people.
You'll be equipped with strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex information and communicating it in a non-specialist format to the operational areas of the business, the ability develop and communicate complex positions on regulatory policy areas and strong communication skills based on clarity of argument and supporting rationale.
A Economics or business related degree is required to be successful in this role.
