Contracts Manager (Refrigeration / Cooling)
Salary is circa £35,000 to £45,000 plus car, phone, laptop, pension and 4 x salary death in service benefit.

My client is successful manufacture of bespoke cooling equipment for laboratories and other specialised sectors. They have been established for over 60 years, gaining an excellent reputation for producing genuinely bespoke laboratory equipment whether it's incubators, custom built rooms or humidity cabinets.

JOB TITLE: Senior Contracts Manager UK & Export
RESPONSIBLE TO: Sales Director

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To manage the contracts team, ensuring that all projects are managed in an effective and profitable manner


To manage the contracts team and take responsibility for the commercial management and delivery of all projects.

To schedule the work of the contracts department, keeping abreast of work in hand and in progress, identifying issues and taking action accordingly.

To manage the appointment and performance of sub-contractors and to liaise with Architects, M&E Consultants and QS at all stages of a project.

To project manage individual contracts as required including preparation of H&S documentation.

To support the sales team in the preparation of tender documents including PQQ and information to consultants and architects.

To manage the financial aspects of projects, including contractual terms and conditions, managing financial claims and preparing final accounts; and to report to the Directors on the financial position of individual projects on a regular basis.

To maintain an up to date technical awareness of all products.

To manage the contracts function, providing leadership and direction, including managing change and employee relations.

To constantly review procedures and working practices, and feedback recommendations for improvement with an aim to enhancing the performance of the team.

To ensure that all departmental staff are recruited, trained, managed, motivated, appraised, developed and disciplined in accordance with internal and statutory procedures in an effective and sensitive manner and in accordance with the Company Equal Opportunities Policy.

To ensure that all staff are kept informed and consulted as appropriate.

To carry out all duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and to ensure that the company H&S policy documents are up to date and conform with current legislation.

To undertake any other duties or special projects as may be regarded as within the responsibility of the post.

Candidates should come from a contracts background, refrigeration experience in not essential; it is more important that the successful candidate has experience of reading through contracts & checking that there aren't any hidden clauses. Experience of checking NHS contracts would be highly beneficial
