Land Surveyor - Trainee/Junior

Salary - Dependent on Experience

Company Background
Our client who is based in the Yorkshire area, are looking to recruit a Trainee/Junior Land Surveyor to work from their local office to assist in their Survey Team. The surveyor will work closely with the local DNO as well as delivering centrally won survey work within the region and surrounding areas as necessary.

Principal Accountabilities / Objectives
• Deliver high quality survey and drawing outputs supported by the central survey management team
• Provide survey services to support the growth and development of their other businesses
• Develop and maintain good client relationships

Job Content / Main Tasks
• Lead and manage the delivery of drainage and land survey work within the region
• Produce client reports and drawings to be verified by the Survey Manager
• Communicate project related issues to the Survey Manager
• Monitor costs, technical provision and project progress and provide updates to the Survey Manager
• Quality checking of surveys prior to verification by the Survey Manager
• Maintain an good knowledge of survey technology and software
• Assist management in the production of time/cost estimates for projects
• Assist with the production of Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Undertake all appropriate training and certification

• Hold an academic qualification in land surveying and have substantial post qualification experience.
• Experience of and ability to deliver control, land, and measured building surveys
• High competence level in data processing, quality control and job management
• Highly proficient in the use of GPS and CAD
• Experience of working with a wide range of clients within the topographical and underground utility location marketplace
• Experience of managing the delivery of survey projects and dealing directly with clients
• Good computer skills
• Full driving licence

• Topographical Surveying: 1 year
