Operations Manager - £35,000 - £45,000 + Pension
A great opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to make their mark within a market leading manufacture who work within the aerospace sector.
The company have recently expanded their premises and are looking for an operations manager to come in, set up the new factory and increase turnover.
The core focus of this role is to work alongside the Managing Director and Technical director and streamline the company's efficiency and lead departmental change. You will have the personal drive to help, create and drive the business forward.
The successful candidate will have experience overseeing cross functional departments; you will come from a fast paced manufacturing environment. You will be able to clearly demonstrate previous success implementing process improvement and process optimisation. You will have knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S and 7 wastes. The successful candidate will also have a comprehension of OTIF/DIFOT and EFQM excellence model.
You will be responsible for designing/developing specific strategies to move production forward, lead the production and technical team and be instrumental in critical business decisions to facilitate the growth of the company in terms of premises, staffing, products and revenue streams. Facilitating the company's rapid growth means you play a fundamental part in driving efficiency and continuous improvement. You will have 3 direct reports and will then oversee 60 engineers on the shop floor. You will be responsible for hiring, firing and identifying gaps within the existing team. You and the newly recruited HR manager will work collectively to design and implement a brand new training scheme. You will be shop floor based 70% of the time, 30% office based.

*Proven track record in successfully implementing process improvement/efficiency
* Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably to degree level.
* Proven experience of financial responsibility and project delivery to customers
