Are you a Senior Architectural Technologist or Technical Architect looking for a new role?

Salary up to £45k

This chartered, friendly North London based practice specialise in high end residential projects including renovations, extensions and developments on values of up to £10 million. They have been successfully practising for nearly ten years and have been going from strength to strength collecting numerous prestigious awards along the way for their quality of work and design. One of their strengths is working very closely with clients to develop a detailed and tailored brief incorporating sustainability, planning, structural, building regulations and other relevant restrictions and limitations.

The team is made up of 2 directors and 3 specialist teams including design, technical, and structural engineering. This practice are very advanced in BIM implementation and it is essential that you will have a good understanding of BIM concepts and some practical experience, ideally with Archicad or Revit

The offices are situated within walking distance of transport links and offer a bright, creative and welcoming working environment designed to staff feel comfortable and inspired. I personally met with the owner of this firm and felt a productive, creative and relaxed working environment. They have a very 'hands on' approach to their work and encourage open, communicative and healthy working conditions. If I was an Architect, I would definitely want to work for this practice!

As head of the Technical department you will manage a small team, working on a large variety of projects working closely with the design team, an in-house structural engineer and taking projects from post planning stage (RIBA 4) to completion. On a daily basis, you will be giving technical guidance on building regulations and construction details to the team, liaising with clients, acting as a contract administrator on end user projects and as the main point of contact for client's appointed projects managers and contract administrators on developer schemes. You will have 5+ years' post qualification experience within the industry within the residential, sector with both end users and developer's projects

Excellent people skills are essential to this position as you will be a key role in the successful completion of projects. The ideal person will be confident, friendly, approachable, work well with others, and at the same time be assertive, professional and commercially aware. You will enjoy working with professionals on all levels and have a good sense of humour. This would suit someone that is keen to further their career, be at the heart of the firm and heavily involved in making decisions and moving the business forward.

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

Lead, manage and mentor the technical team - Resourcing, project planning, weekly schedules of tasks, deadlines and monitoring.
Lead & supervise production of tender and construction packages - Drawings, Schedules and specifications.
Manage tender processes - Documentation, issuing, analysing and reporting to clients.
Liaise and coordinate work by all external consultants & internally with the Design and Structural teams.
Lead & supervise site inspections - Liaison with contractors and subcontractors, site procedures & documentation.
Administrate Contracts (standard JCT's and D&B's) - Dealing with RFI's, issuing all instructions, valuations and certificates.

In return you will receive a competitive salary, holiday, pension and a performance related bonus. You will be working with a friendly, supportive team in a pleasant working environment in the heart of busy London.
