A well respected multi disciplinary consultancy located in Manchester are looking to expand the ecological department with an experienced Ecology consultant due to a massive increase of work in the North West. The team has experience in surveying and evaluating the range of UK habitats, as well as holding licenses to work with protected species. They have core skills in botany, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic macrophytes, amphibians, mammals and reptiles, with a strong track record of working in the water, power and highways industries.

job Description

My client offers a complete ecological assessment service to facilitate project delivery through meeting regulatory requirements, pushing forward best practice from project inception through to construction, operation and decommissioning both in the UK and overseas.

As an ecologist you will be based in the Manchester office and would be required to assist in the continued delivery of specialist environmental consultancy services. Duties will principally involve the provision of ecological surveys and assessments and general environmental support for projects. Ability to travel and work throughout the UK is essential.

In order to progress you will need to have,

>Relevant degree in ecology or directly related subject
>Relevant consultancy experience with a strong focus on preliminary ecological assessments, Phase 1 ecological survey and planning support.
>Excellent understanding of UK nature conservation legislation, including environmental impact assessments and planning guidance.
>Good report writing skills.
>Proven experience of working in a team delivering projects on-time and to tight deadlines.
