Tool Setter / Fitter|
Established in 1982, Middlewich Food Trays Ltd. is a small, privately owned business in Knutsford. We manufacture polystyrene food trays supplying supermarkets and takeaway whole-sellers. We pride ourselves on maintaining and developing the factory with in-house engineering, mechanical and electrical expertise.
We currently have a vacancy to fill in our Workshop Team for a Tool Setter / Fitter. You will be required to carry out tool changes on our high speed Irwin Thermoformers, each lasting around 2 ½ hours. Your remaining working hours will be spent fitting and maintaining production machinery.
The tool change involves exchanging the moulds in a thermoformer, and the tool in a trim press. The line then needs setting up to produce polystyrene trays fit for dispatch. Adjustments are made mechanically and with computer settings.
During the tool change you will be expected to inspect and maintain the machinery to keep it in good running order.
The fitting part of the role will involve maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic and motor-driven factory equipment in our well-equipped workshop.
The role will suit someone who is happy working in a small team and is capable of carrying out their work without close supervision. As our Tool Setter / Fitter, you will be reporting directly to the Workshop Manager. The suitable candidate will ideally have gained skills within a manufacturing / processing industry.
