The company has a committed workforce with 50 + years of experience, and prides itself on its service to clients and its long maintained quality accreditation. The company has undertaken and is continuing to work towards a full modernisation program. As part of this remit, the company now requires an exceptional Quality focused individual, who has undergone extensive training and relevant education and is now ready to assume full responsibility and management for the company's quality performance.
This role provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to progress technically and run the quality department for the company. The individual will integrate and become an important part of the company's senior team, leading and supporting team members to successfully uphold the company's high standards of quality.
The individual must have a proactive approach to supporting Production and manufacturing functions overcome any quality related issues, ensuring relationship management and effective communication is delivered with all of the company's customers, suppliers and colleagues at all times.
The Quality Engineer/Manager will be conversant with and fully understand modern quality standards (supplier, customer and internal), and will be expected to improve quality standards by constantly monitoring methods of production. With a preferred background in automotive (although not entirely essential), the individual will fully review the company's Quality procedures, before submitting and delivering a robust improvement plan, to take the company to the next levels of future Quality performance expected.
-The company is BS EN 9001:2008 accredited and has to perform within this required remit. The successful individual will be fully conversant with this standard and will be required to lead the company to achieve BS EN 9001:2015 accreditation within the next 24 months.
Core duties will include:
-Oversee the management of all designated quality projects ensuring quality standards are maintained and programme targets met within the overall framework of business objectives.
- Prepare PPAP and submit, including production of sample parts.
-Liaison with customers to ensure effective feedback and implementation of actions resulting in successful resolution of customer complaints
-Lead and work within improvement teams, ensuring corrective actions are robust and effectively implemented
-Responsibility for making informed decisions regarding line hold up's due to quality problems
-Assist in the training of quality awareness, working with Directors, Operations Manager, Production Supervisor and Technical Engineer to raise standard of all aspects of Quality across the company's footprints .
-Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
-To contribute to continuous improvement activity within the business.
-Maintain measurement equipment including R and R studies
-Monitor and analyse process capability including data collection and robust reporting of performance to Directors.
Key measures for this role will include, Customer and Supplier PPM, Adherence to systems and procedures, Global 8d activity as part of company's CAR process, Process Capability Status and Quality Costs.
A degree qualification is desired for this Quality Engineer post but an HND with experience is acceptable also. Automotive Quality sector exposure is preferred, as is strong problem solving skills, the ability to influence and maintain a good rapport with all levels of staff. Previous experience within CE Marking 1090 accreditation would also be desirable.
