OVERVIEW Reporting to the Director, Sales and Business Development the Business Development Representative (BDR) strives to achieve corporate revenue growth and profitability goals through business development, procurement and sales results. This is accomplished by: maintaining service levels to retain and grow current accounts/vendors; and prospecting for new accounts within a competitive marketplace to expand our account base. RESPONSIBILITIESProactively identify and pursue new business prospects for ABC and develop existing relationships to achieve growth in volume and market shareFollow up on sales referrals received from all sourcesAttend and present at meetings and functions/events necessary to build and retain customersSupport the Director, Sales and Business Dev in the development, communication and implementation of the ABC strategic business development and marketing plansMaintain the customer relationship database and ensure regular contactImplement account management strategies for high value and high potential customers to ensure loyalty and sales growthCollaborate with Operations to ensure client service needs are communicated and service levels are consistent with ABC service standardsMonitors scale operations to ensure proper allocations and pricing of incoming scrapSupport the strong customer service culture within the business development team and model and foster the ABC customer service culture throughout the organization QUALIFICATIONSMinimum five years of successful achievement in sales/account management roles in the waste recycling industry or comparable service-oriented heavy industry, ideally in the BC, Alberta and/or Pacific NorthwestPost-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, marketing or sales, or equivalent experienceValues drivenExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsCommitted to social, environmental and community sustainabilityProven team playerIntermittent travel will be required WORK CONDITIONS What makes a good company great?
