Title Technical Advisor, Conservation and Energy Management - Kelowna, BC Department Conservation and Energy Management Job Status Full Time Regular Starting Salary $2660 bi-weekly to start with upgrades after 6 months, 1 year and 2 years Position Overview The Conservation & Energy Management (C&EM) Technical Advisor is responsible for attaining measurable results that contribute to our client's energy resource plan by helping customers use energy efficiently while developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. The C&EM Technical Advisor is expected to meet annual energy management (EM) targets by delivering energy management programs to general service and industrial customers throughout the Southern Okanagan service areas, in line with our Client policy and procedures, while supporting C&EM objectives and deliverables. Responsibilities· Develop and maintain a work plan to identify energy efficiency opportunities and implement EM measures.· Develop and maintain local market knowledge on new construction and facility upgrade activities.· Work with trade allies, suppliers and developers to provide program information and encourage implementation.· Prepare walk-through energy audits of customer facilities and review plans of new facilities.· Prepare and recommend engineered savings and rebate estimates and track savings and project details.· Administration of C&EM efficiency programs.· Develop a customized customer plan, act as an advocate for the customer and ensure effective resolution of all key customer problems/issues.· Establish and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including local government, media, First Nations groups and key community representatives.· Maintain our Client's business interface with the customer including unpaid accounts, contracts, deposits, policy and regulatory changes, etc.· Participate in our Client's and C&EM community events as required.· Other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Knowledge and Experience Requirements:· Energy Technology diploma or a related technical diploma with minimum of five years direct experience in an energy efficiency related role.· Certified or currently eligible for certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).· Demonstrated knowledge of energy use and energy conservation.· Solid understanding of regulatory issues and emerging business issues facing local stakeholders groups.· Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems including Word, Excel, Access and MS Outlook.· Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail.· SAP knowledge - preferred.· Valid BC driver's license. Special Skill Requirements:· Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.· Team player with emphasis on building relationships and partnerships.· Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.· Ability to set up energy monitoring equipment (with assistance from Licensed Electrician).· Ability to keep current with EM technologies and methods available.· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
