Responsibilities for this Position:

GDMS has an immediate opening for an Electronic Warfare (EW) Chief Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
The EW Chief Engineer serves as technical lead on business-significant programs in a technical manager role. This employee usually works on business-defined significant programs or a family of programs. The EW Chief Engineer may also be line of business (LOB)-focused with the ability to technically influence a customer or customer set.

The EW Chief Engineer will oversee the technical aspects of product systems development, engineering, analysis, and architecture. Support the Product and Capture Managers by performing system development, management, and engineering tasks:
  • Market Analysis to identify and quantify market needs and identifies opportunities, as well as evaluating competitor CEMA offerings
  • Systems development and strategic planning for development and technical engineering approaches to maximize return from investment in the market and align with available resources and plans
  • Systems Engineering for development of the system scope and architecture, engineering trades, and schedule to complete the Product Plan
  • Risks and Opportunities for identification, analysis, systems engineering, and mitigation
  • Configuration Control of the system technical baseline during development and system engineering during all phases
  • Product Launch (includes preparation and launch execution)
  • Product Life-cycle Management, from initial concept development through product end of life

Additional Responsibilities

  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs.
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems' culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems' services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various RF communications and EW systems, analysis, and development process to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems' technology.

The EW Chief Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a specialized area, field or the equivalent and at least ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a Master's degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience are also eligible.

An active SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Must be able to obtain TS/SCI. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
