Operations Manager ( New Product Development & Manufacture)|
We are a market leading, award winning design, development and manufacturing organisation producing leading edge, complex electro-mechanical products.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our talented team in support of both our new and existing product portfolio, with particular emphasis on project management of development projects to ensure design for manufacture and test as an early stage.
Based within our facility as Operations Manager you will support both in house production and also production at our outsourced manufacturing facilities. Your remit will be to ensure manufacturing best practice, through embedding lean and continuous improvement activities within new product development to deliver projects and products on time in the most cost effective manner without compromising our exceptional standards of quality.
Your key responsibilities as Operations Manager will include:
Management and Project Management of your team to ensure rapid on-time delivery of new product introduction via global outsourced volume manufacturing routes
Leading product management & design engineering to devise a manufacturing strategy for strong partnerships with outsource manufacturers.
Using your expertise to direct Design Engineering on Design for Manufacture and Design for Test strategies
Working with your outsource manufacturing partners to reduce cost during the product life-cycle
Safeguarding tooling and capital equipment is managed & maintained throughout its both in-house in and externally
Driving operational process improvements through the use of lean / continuous improvement tools to reduce waste and increase productivity
To succeed in this highly autonomous, senior role you will be an experienced operations / manufacturing manager / engineering manager with in depth new product introduction expertise gained within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. Significant experience in delivering projects to budget, cost and specification and a proven background in managing manufacturing and engineering functions & disciplines essential.
First class leadership skills and any exposure to managing outsourced manufacture would be advantageous
There will be a requirement to travel globally for extended periods of time on occasion as part of the role.
