General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior CAD Technician to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out critical national security missions supporting intelligence collection, processing and dissemination.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage CAD solutions for General Dynamics Mission Systems. The Senior CAD Technician will be responsible to create and modify detailed drawings using NX 7.5 MCAD software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. They will contribute design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. The Senior CAD Technician will check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards via corporate peer review process. The Senior CAD Technician will also work with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and change order documentation. They may also be involved in system management including file maintenance, backup and storage of native file models.
Candidates should demonstrate problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems technology. This CAD Technician position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and often requires four years of related experience. Candidates with an Associates Degree or equivalent and one year of related experience also qualify.
Department of Defense Secret level clearance at time of hire is preferred. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
