General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Lead
Computer-aided Design (CAD) Technician to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out critical national security missions supporting intelligence collection, processing and dissemination.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage CAD solutions for General Dynamics Mission Systems. LeadCAD Technicians will be responsible to create and modify detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes providing by engineering. They will contribute design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Lead CAD Technicians will check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Lead CAD Technicians will also works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation. They may also be involved in system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
Candidates should demonstrate problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems technology. This CAD Technician position requires an High School Diploma or equivalent and often requires six years of related experience. Candidates with an Associates Degree or equivalent and three years of related experience also qualify.
Department of Defense security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
