Quality Engineer - manufacturing Minimum 6 month fixed term contract - potential to extend Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire 08.30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday Salary and benefits competitive GPS PE Pipe Systems, part of the Aliaxis Group, is a market leading manufacturer with a 100-year heritage; the pioneer of PE pipe systems in the UK we provide high performance piping products to the Utilities and industrial sectors. We have an opportunity for a meticulous Quality Engineer/Quality Technician to join our busy, friendly and supportive Technical team. Responsibility This is varied, hands on and physical role that focuses on product and approvals testing to ensure compliance with product specifications and standards. Working closely with the Quality, Technical, Manufacturing, Logistics, QC Lab and Health and Safety departments you will be applying quality engineering techniques to reduce product and system non-compliances and continually improve product and service quality. Activity will include: Product inspection and testing utilising equipment such as micrometers, OD tapes and cutting sawsSupporting production in identifying, investigating and resolving quality issues from customers and internal checksSuggesting and implementing corrective actionsRaising non-conformances and producing inspection documentation and quality reportsEnsuring records and documentation is correct and the record management system is maintained and up to dateTime spent at the local Wyton site undertaking stock and load auditingUndertaking ad hoc projects and getting involved in product and process improvements Skills/Experience We are looking for a confident and organised individual with the ability to work efficiently and autonomously. You will: Have experience in process/quality engineering within manufacturing although knowledge of our product range is not essential as training will be providedIdeally have used testing / cutting equipment however training will be providedBe detail conscious, a strong communicator and knowledgeable of H&S requirementsBe PC literate and familiar with record management systemsBe a team player, providing support and sharing knowledge with your team, colleagues and peersHave a full car driving licence as you will spend a small amount of your time at an additional local site (a company vehicle will be available to you) This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading brand in a large and successful global organisation with potential to extend contract terms / take up other potential opportunities in the business.
