We are looking to recruit a Civil/ Drainage Engineer with approximately 8 10 years relevant experience to join our civil Engineering team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will join an established team working on water, drainage and infrastructure projects, across a wide range of related disciplines including: drainage design, wastewater (sewerage); highway design (S388 and S278), flood studies, flood protection and reservoirs. Experience on housing developments in particular is required as well as the ability to manage projects independently and other member of the team. Must also be happy in a client facing role.|
Leading projects in the office from small to large
Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution.
Design of infrastructure including SUDS and drainage systems, highways to adoptable standard, design of private infrastructure for housing, commercial and retail projects.
Preparation of Drainage Impact Assessments and Flood Risk Assessments across all zones.
Liaison with statutory bodies, such as Local Authorities, EA, Lead Local Flood
Authorities, Highways England etc.
Resolution of planning conditions
Strong report writing, communication and numerical skills required.
Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc) is maintained. Engineering or other numerate discipline
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
First degree in Civil Engineering preferable
Progressing towards Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status or recently qualified
Knowledge and experience of infrastructure design using Microdrainage and PDS Software
Experience of design of SUDS and maintenance strategies
Experience on residential housing developments, including NHBC conditions clearance
Proven ability of obtaining regulatory approval for infrastructure works, e.g S27, S278, S104 etc
Flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure
Confidence and ability to maximise the level of responsibility taken on projects and ability to be client facing

Some construction industry experience would be advantageous.
