Purpose of the Role: Our Client has an urgent requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer to undertake a defined range of engineering activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.

Technical Skills:
Possesses good knowledge of most aspects within his/her discipline
Able to perform analysis using recognised analytical tools and to make sound judgements
Has sufficient capability to be able make correct trade-off decisions

People Management Skills:
Experience in a multi- disciplined engineering environment;
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to management and peers;
Displays flexibility through response to radical changes.

Analytical Skills:
Ensure effective application of process in assigned areas, including supporting the design, modifications and improvements to processes in accordance with relevant standards, best practice and developing needs;
Interprets requirements from contract or other documentation producing specifications and/or instructions. Delivers cost effective data to budget and programme.

Industry Knowledge:
2 Years' experience in engineering or a defence or related industry
Understanding of Life Cycle Management

Typically, degree qualified, likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline
Working towards the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council

Major Tasks and Activities:
Develop design specifications under guidance and carry out design activities in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards;
Participate fully in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need;
Carry out technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the design of improvements;
Prepare specifications; develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards;
Contribute to process improvement within the operational and/or engineering team to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisation;
Liaise with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters.

System calculations, diagrams and drawings supporting Design and assessment tasks, specific to own discipline;
Design and Assessment Studies;
Technical Reports and Specifications;
Presentation material.

To apply for this position, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK and either possess or be able to obtain UK MOD Security Clearance to SC Level.
