  • Plan, communicate and manager scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, test and calibration activities.
  • Ensure spares inventory levels are managed to facilitate repairs process and direct spares supply to MOD demanding units.
  • Supervision of workshop and test house staff.
  • Management/supervision of any sub-contractor maintenance activities.
  • Production of monthly repair/maintenance progress reports.
  • Attend quarterly client progress meetings and incident sentencing meetings and assist the JOFS PM and Capability managers in the preparation of minutes of meetings.
  • Comply with all health and safety attaining to an equipment maintenance workshop.
  • Additional Tasks as deemed necessary by line management


  1. Essential:
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Airfield Ground Support Equipment (GSE), with a good knowledge of Vehicle and Refuelling Equipment Maintenance, both mechanical and electrical.
  • A minimum of 10 years materials management experience.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules and work packages for workshop team. Maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions.
  • Ability to plan Test and calibration schedules for test house team. Maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions.
  • Ability to Manage inventory/production system (MRP/IPMS)
  • Ability to liaise with Procurement dept. and suppliers
  • Ability to liaise directly with client management levels.
  • Ability to supervise a team of Maintenance/repair skilled fitters, including apprentices.
  • Must have the ability to work alone or part of a team to a high standard .
  • Have a good understanding of Risk and COSHH Assessments.
  • Must be able to apply good Health, Safety & Environmental practices in tasks performed.
  • Must hold a valid Driving Licence.

  1. Preferred:
  • Experience working on refuelling, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using test equipment and following technical manuals, drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Hold a valid SC security clearance.
  • ISO 9000 internal auditor
  • Thorough Examination (LOLER) Certified.
  • Experience working on Aircraft and Diesel Refuel Trucks.
  • Experience with calibration of bulk fuel meters, aviation hose and refueller tank testing (ADR).
