Thales Alenia Space are hiring for a Resource Analyst, who, will work closely with the engineering team to identify the availability of engineering capability to meet the needs of the business across project delivery and bid development. The Resource Analyst will identify excess capacity and skills shortages along with assisting in planning for growth where skill shortages have been identified.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Analyse Resource Capacity against internal demand from TAS UK project, bid, business development and other budgets
  • Identify practical solutions with Project Managers and Bid Managers for the supply of the best fit resources to meet business delivery needs
  • Develop Skill Set models to support resource planning for Engineering Resource Group Managers to meet TAS UK Multi-Year Budget (MYB) Pipeline targets
  • Develop network within TAS and Thales to establish potential sources of resource through business to business arrangements and/or international mobility
  • Assist in forming solutions to resolve resourcing conflicting priorities

Productivity budgets
  • Analyse and report against Budgets for each Engineering Resource Group including utilisation of time, training and other off booking allowances using the TAS UK business model
  • Analyse workload productivity for each Engineering Resource Group, and deploying engineering resources onto projects and other approved budgeted activity
  • Analyse utilisation trends for longer term resource planning
  • Highlight significant variances and assist in developing solutions to manage underload and overload
  • Maximise capability delivery
  • In conjunction with the Engineering Resource Managers and Skill Leads, identify solutions that match project requirements
  • Gather inputs to Training and Development Plan for each Engineering Resource Group
  • Identify the broader skills required from the Resource Group and present to the Competence Centre management
  • Manage the over-arching professional development and performance management activities for members of their engineering team in the Competence Centre

Skills and Experience:

  • A demonstrable track record of successfully working with teams in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Working in an engineering organisation organised in a matrix management structure
  • Managing conflicting demands
  • Strong communication skills. Uses influencing skills to obtain information in a pressured working environment
  • Collaborative working approach
  • Strong organisational skills. Rigorous review procedures to enable responses to changing resource needs
  • Shows resilience and determination in a working environment with many concurrent activities
  • Strong business analysis and reporting capability

  • Minimum degree-level qualification in relevant technical subject or equivilent experience.
  • Project Management qualification / certification (e.g. APMP level B) or business management qualification
