Job Summary
The Transportation Architecture Group in the Bay Area is actively seeking an experienced, highly talented California licensed Architect for immediate employment in the Oakland, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in commercial and industrial building design.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Take on role and responsibilities as the Project Architect &/or Architect of Record for projects under your direction including supervision of team members, both in-house and consultants
  • Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Work under only general direction. Independently determine and develop approach to solutions. Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility over finished plans and specs
  • Execute Project Management, utilizing AECOM's Project Delivery System (PDS)
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design
  • Stay current in codes and technologies appropriate to the project under development including preparation of building code analysis
  • Direct Bid and Construction Support activities by project team
  • Implement and follow AECOM's Quality Management System (QMS) procedures

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture/Environmental Design or related field
  • 10 years of experience as a licensed architect in the State of California
  • Experience working as Project Architect on projects in steel frame, pre-engineered building systems, concrete, CMU, or precast/tilt-up concrete construction types
  • Ability to coordinate and lead consultant/multi-discipline team
  • Capable of preparing construction specifications in current CSI format
  • Capable of preparing building-code checks
  • Prior production of a CBC code check experience
  • Well versed and experienced in Revit 2014-2016 (5 years), Bluebeam Revu x64, Microsoft Office, Sketch Up, AutoCAD, and Photoshop
  • Ability to coordinate and direct design staff of architectural team and other disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience acting as a BIM/Revit team coordinator for projects or BIM leader for a firm or department
