About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Designer/Drafter on our Oasis contract in Australia. The Designer/Drafter interacts with many site personnel, client and contractors on a daily basis and reports to the Drafting Section Manager. The selected candidate will prepare complete 2D and 3D AutoCad drawings using AutoDesk software in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes and design criteria established by the assigned Engineers; coordinate design and drafting work with all discipline groups (including engineers and managers) and other personnel on assigned projects; prepare 2D and 3D designs with limited supervision. Prepares completed designs for review by engineering personnel; receive, review, format, and electronically file drawings supplied by outside engineers, vendors, clients and other groups; use electronic and hard copy information from other sources in compliance with established CAD standards to enhance project documents; receive engineering and design guidance and data from various discipline engineers and is responsible for timely completion of electronic and hard copy drawings and drawing packages; provide support to engineers by managing electronic AutoCad files, plotting project drawings, incorporating redline changes, and coordinating the release revisions; responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace and perform other related duties as assigned. The primary task will be to maintain the accuracy of the facility's record drawings using AutoCAD 2012 or later. This task will include conducting building audits (regular, periodic audits conducted to ensure the facility record drawings align with real-world facility conditions), change capture (the integration of completed post-construction plans into the record drawings) standards adherence (directly auditing the record drawings to ensure dimensional consistency and layer standards across multiple disciplines) and database integration. Additionally, the applicant will be required to utilize Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and provide support to engineers and designers.
