About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM are seeking a Water Engineer to join our team in Bahrain. Assignments will usually include one or more of the following: water, wastewater or surface water network modelling, calculations, preparation of plans and specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed by a Water Engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Independently prepares design calculations or reports.
  • Researches and ensures assignments meet building codes, regulatory and industry codes, laws and requirements, as well as client requirements.
  • Determines the permitting requirements for the particular type of work being designed for the location in which it is to be constructed.
  • As a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional areas of the assignment, plans and conducts work requiring judging in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Proficient with design software, models, etc. Bentley WaterCAD, SewerGEMS and StormCAD essential.
  • Basic knowledge of types of code and permit requirements for the Gulf or Bahrain.
  • Basic knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered.
  • Development of project technical specifications;
  • Knowledge of contract types and implementation;
  • Site experience would be beneficial;
  • Knowledge of inspection and testing methods and procedures;
  • Some experience in utility coordination;
  • Project reviews;
  • Time/cost management;
  • Authority Liaison;
  • Following of application and permitting procedures.
  • The candidate should have experience working in a multinational, multidisciplinary environment. The candidate will also be expected to undertake tasks outside of his/her primary role such as bid preparation, authority liaison etc

Minimum Requirements
  • 5 - 10 years' experience as Water Infrastructure engineer working with multi discipline team
  • Proficient with design software, models, etc. Bentley WaterCAD, SewerGEMS and StormCAD essential.
  • Basic knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered.
  • AUTOCAD skills.
  • MS Project
  • Technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • BSc in Civil Engineering, Chartered Civil Engineer or in process of obtaining Chartership. Higher qualifications will be preferred.
  • Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE) may be required to enable assignment flexibility.
