Job Description:





The Quality Manager will lead, support and administer the employees, projects and matters relating to quality assurance and quality control in all manufacturing processes, including those provided by external processors. The primary objective of the department is to establish the procedures that must be followed to yield product that meets all customer expectations. Second, the department must ensure personnel are properly trained and equipped to follow these procedures. Third, the department must establish the means for monitoring all processes and respond with robust corrective actions when necessary. Some other duties are as follows:Develop and review disciplined practices and procedures for each production , quality control, and supporting processManage the performance of subordinate team, including developing and refining their skillsWork with each customer to ensure customer expectations are understood and incorporated into the production process and quality inspectionsWork with each supplier to ensure their processes are capable, consistent and reliable, and ensure that corrective actions, when required, are robustResponsible for all customer, supplier, and internal quality complaints and issuesWork with Advanced Quality Engineering in the launch of new productsIdentify and implement initiatives for continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, product development, process and profitability while meeting all quality requirementsEstablish objectives, develop action plans, and analyze outcomes The requirements include:At least 5 years of experience leading a quality department in an automotive parts manufacturing facility in a Tier 1, metal forming and assembly environments; experience in a unionized environment would be an assetAt least 5 years experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role with demonstrated success working closely with production, engineering, materials, tooling, etc. to resolve manufacturing, process, and design issuesPlanning, directing and coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plantDeveloping, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standardsProficiency in root cause analysis and implementation of robust corrective actionsDemonstrated experience in the completion/submission of complex PPAPsMechanical Engineering Degree plus metallurgical/material science and quality assurance coursesWorking knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, and Lean ManufacturingEstablished record of continuous improvement initiatives/projects; Six Sigma Green Belt would be an assetAbility to collect and interpret data to support decision making relating to process, workflow, layout/space/workforce utilization, NA applications proficiency in MS Office, researching, and 3D CAD modelling (preferably SolidWorks)Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving skills, and ownership/accountability for assigned projectsExcellent documentation, organizational, and project management skillsWorking knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 systems and understanding WHMIS, IMDS, and ergonomicsDemonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under time constraints while handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Results-oriented with ability to work well both independently and in a team
