Petrofac is recruiting Onshore Production Operator based at the Point of Ayr Terminal

Petrofac's Offshore Engineering & Operations business has been supporting the Eni Operation at Liverpool Bay since early construction and operational start-up. Petrofac provides both operations and maintenance personnel both onshore and offshore in support of the Liverpool Bay Development in the Irish Sea. This includes: the Douglas Platform, Offshore Storage Installation, Point of Ayr Terminal and the Duty Holder contract for the Irish Sea Pioneer (Offshore Support Vessel). The Irish Sea Pioneer (ISP) is a jack-up support vessel located off the North Wales coast in the Irish Sea and supports operations within Liverpool Bay.

The Role:

We are currently recruiting a staff Onshore Production Operator based at Point of Ayr Terminal. The Production Operator will report into Production Supervisor operating and controlling the external process and utility facilities in safe and efficient manner, thereby ensuring continuous production of gas and allied products to contractual specification. Applicants must live within an hour of the terminal for Emergency Response duties.

Specific duties include:

  • completing pre-startup/operator checks, ensuring all interdependent systems are available and brings onto line systems/equipment under the direction of the control room technician. Also completing post start up/operating checks to ensure normal operational conditions and thereafter monitoring operation
  • operating as part of a team and responsible for the continuous processing of products under the direction of control room technician, gathering data/records from the process/equipment and identifying actions required to minimise failure
  • assisting with Terminal planned maintenance programmes, shutdowns, isolations, de-isolations and start ups
  • assisting in the provision of on-the-job training for discipline technicians in hydrocarbon processes as assigned by the Production Supervisor
Candidates must have previous experience in a Production Technician role, preferably with previous Control Room experience in the oil & gas industry or similar. Applicants must have NVQ L3 in Processing Hydrocarbons or equivalent. Knowledge of working with H2S / Sulphur Recovery would be advantageous.
