Hays are representing a large main building & civil engineering contractor who undertake prestigious projects in the fit-out, retail, commercial, hospitality and leisure industries. They have been established for over 30 years and have gained an enviable reputation for delivering bespoke design and build solutions on large-scale complex projects throughout the UK & Ireland. Due to sustained growth they have a requirement for an experienced SHE Adviser on a permanent basis.

Your new role
This is a high profile role for the company where you will report directly to the SHEQ Manager. The successful applicant will be involved on a wide variety of projects including large-scale educational, leisure and healthcare throughout the UK. You will have recently undertaken a similar role within the construction industry and preferably be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level and potentially working towards Chartership. This role will appeal to a highly organised and disciplined individual, as it requires a detailed working knowledge of current H&S legislation.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working with an IMS and be familiar with the implementation and maintenance of OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & 14001 standards. A working knowledge and experience in RIDDOR will also be required to fulfil this role. Due to the profile of the company and the nature of this role you will be required to represent the contractor at forums, client meetings and be involved in the tender process as well as conducting site visits and internal audits.
