My Client, one of the UK's largest Construction Company and arguably the markets leading new build Maintenance and Refurbishment Main Contractor is on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They merged with a number of other of leading Construction Company's recently to form a £1billion company with the capabilities to deliver community regeneration schemes on an enormous scale. They have a history going back over 80 years employing nearly 4000 staff and they have won numerous awards for their work. About the Role

The company have a Quantity Surveyor opportunity based in North East London/Essex. The role is working on a number of Planned Maintenance/Decent Home programmes valued between £4m and £6m. It will cover internal works (kitchen and bathrooms upgrades, electrical rewiring) and external works (aids and adaptations, asbestos removal, scaffolding, roofing, windows, doors, communal areas). It will be based in North East London and site visits will be required from time to time.

Job role/criteria:

* To manage the commercial resources of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts
* To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement the Company's policies for risk management
* To support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
* To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
* To implement all of the Company's policies including those for SHE and risk management
* To promote the Company's values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their


* At least three or four years' experience working refurbishment/planned maintenance/Decent Home projects
* Experience working for a Main Contractor
