4 X IT Support Technicians are required on a 3 months contract (possibility of being extended) based in Frimley.

Working for a well established organisation you will be working as part of a team providing a responsive and customer focused desktop /2nd line support and provide IT expertise to the resolution of problems allocated to the team by the IT Service Desk.

Role and responsibilities:

-Appropriately respond to user support calls

-Form an effective working relationship with the IT Service Desk supervisor and team

-Communicate with IT Service Desk on a daily basis to ensure that 1st and 2nd line support work well together.

-Escalating unsolved problems to senior Support Specialists

-Keeping users informed regarding status of outstanding problems

-Keeping the IM&T Service Desk informed of progress and ensuring the status of the support call is logged on the Service Desk software.

-Work as part of a team to provide in identifying and resolving more complex IT software and hardware problems.

-Communicating technical issues to non-technical staff and owning the problem through to satisfactory resolution for the user.

-Responding to urgent priority calls as escalated by the IT Service Desk

-Travelling to the sites from which the Trust operates in order to provide support or implement new equipment

-Provide where appropriate 1 to 1 training to a user upon installation of new equipment or following the fix of a fault.

-To assist in monitoring the performance of the trusts physical and virtual desktop estate

-To assist in maintaining the Trusts mobile device estate, including mobile handsets, tablets and other mobile devices provided by the IM&T Department.

Essential experience:

experience of working in a IT/ user support environment

-Good customer service skills

-Significant experience of PC hardware, operating systems and applications software including configuration, delivery and installation of PCs, monitors, terminals, printers and peripherals,

-Good estimation skills in being able to assess time required to undertake technical tasks and form plans based on this information.

-Detailed knowledge of Windows XP/7/8 Desktop Operating Systems

-MS Windows Server 2003/8/12 and support tools

-Desktop Thin Client

-MS Active Directory

-Apple OS X

-Mobile Device management

-Microsoft Office Suite

-LAN/WAN technologies

-Web based technologies


-Group Policy Management

-ITIL Service Management

-PC and peripherals hardware knowledge

-Internet and operational applications

-Network Architecture and Protocols

Key Qualifications:

-Degree level qualification or relevant experience

-Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician

-Relevant experience equivalent to desirable Microsoft qualifications

This role will be paying between £10.86 per hour (PAYE+ Holiday pay & Pension) and £13.28 per hour (Ltd/ Umbrella) depending on level of experience and is due to start ASAP
