Our Client, a FTSE 250 listed company within the Finance and Banking Sector, is currently seeking a Project Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving key business change and technical projects throughout the organisation, ensuring their delivery to time and budget.

The ideal candidate will engage successfully with various stakeholders, keeping key contacts fully informed and engaged. Other responsibilities include the contribution to the continuous improvement of the Change function drawing from industry best practices to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring projects are planned, funded, resourced and agreed by all key stakeholders
• Identifying, owning and implementing improvements to working practices used by the Change function
• Ensuring projects are managed in a controlled manner in line with set project methodology
• Effectively managing projects, ensuring delivery within agreed budget and timescales through all stages of the project lifecycle
• Effectively engaging and managing all, including Board level, stakeholders
• Planning and co-ordinating the engagement of all project resources including business, technical and any other external resources
• Proactively leading resources to ensure that they are working efficiently and achieving their project objectives
• Ensuring that potential risks and issues are identified, reported and managed through to resolution
• Ensuring any changes to the agreed time, scope and budget are progressed in a controlled way
• Producing status reports accurately to reflect project progress
• Working closely with the Project Management Office
• Ensuring all project communications are timely, relevant and appropriate to the audience
• Organising and attending the appropriate project status meetings and other forums
• Deputising for other Project Managers or managing elements of smaller change initiatives if/when needed
• Successfully engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Adhering to all Governance and Compliance requirements

Skills and experience:
• Proven experience of working within the financial services sector
• Significant experience of project and large programme delivery in a portfolio environment.
• Agile (SCRUM) knowledge ideal
• Professional project/programme management qualifications, APM ideal
• Educated to Degree Level preferably
• Significant experience of traditional waterfall delivery in a structured change environment
• Strong change management & planning skills
• Strong resource planning, estimating and budget management skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex information and data
• Experienced with a wide range of project scopes from technical to business change
• Excellent facilitation skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the proven ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Skilled in the full MS Office suite, including Visio and Project and industry standard project management platforms
• Highly self-motivated
• Proven team building and leadership capabilities within a matrix environment
• Keen attention to detail
