You will be interested in a contract appointment and the opportunity to join the onsite engineering team at the start of a new manufacturing plant's operational life, where you will help shape the processes of lean manufacturing systems throughout the site operations.
Our client is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals, with over 47000 employees, in 80 countries supplying decorative and specialist paint solutions to customers worldwide.
You will support the start-up and production operations of this new large scale and fully automated paint manufacturing facility based in Ashington, North East UK. Working within a team of highly skilled and focused Operational and Engineering staff, reporting into the Management team onsite, you will enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment.
Coming from an automation background and already possessing an abundance of experience in the implementation of DCS Systems, automation project support design, programming and commissioning.
You will be a significant figure onsite, pulling all elements together in order to complete a successful project, taking control of each project with regular reports to management throughout the life cycle.
Maintain stakeholder relationships throughout the process, from programming testing and troubleshooting software development, through to testing (FAT/SAT) and final software commissioning.
As the ideal candidate you will have a proven track record of commissioning Automation and Distributed Control systems, demonstrable expertise of Simatic PCS7 with Simatic Batch. Ideally with a background of process industry and high spec manufacturing environments, however experience from outside of these areas would also be taken into consideration.
Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Qualified to ONC/HNC/ Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline
Qualified / trained with a relevant certification in Controls / Automation (highly desirable)
Must have good knowledge of Siemens PCS7, PLC (Step 7), and TIA Portal, WinCC
Must have experience of programming, testing and commissioning Siemens systems
Knowledge of the current health and safety standards/legislation
Ability to understand & digest PID drawings, design specifications and technical literature
Capable of developing solutions to solve problems of a complex nature
Ability to identify priorities and orchestrate multiple activities
Excellent communicator (written and oral)
Highly motivated self-starter
