Our client, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of some of the world's best known acrylic products, is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Asset Area Engineer for their Billingham site in Teesside, supporting the strategic growth of their manufacturing capabilities.
The Cassel Site at Billingham, Teesside is a top tier COMAH site and has a flowsheet of 214K Tonnes of Methyl Methacrylate per annum. Their talented people are the energy and driving force behind a dynamic business that supplies a range of growing sectors and geographic markets in EAME, The Americas and Asia.
As the Area Engineer you will be taking the multidisciplinary lead for the Asset Integrity and Reliability for a number of plants on our site. You will be capable in leading a team to drive OEE performance improvement to meet the business need and to optimise the Asset Life Cycle costs. This includes providing first line technical support and driving work through from concept to completion for turnarounds or projects. With a focus on continuously improving asset reliability and maintaining/improving engineering standards, you will also have responsibility for managing specific projects.
Part of the role will include acting as a Senior Functional Engineer within their Asset Team, responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering standards support, with a team of engineers under your control. You will be working closely with the manufacturing multidisciplinary team of Operations, Technical, and Projects to improve our manufacturing performance using modern Asset Management techniques.
You will have significant experience, gained within a similar background and will have a passion for SHE, (process and personal safety) and motivation to achieving continuous improvement in terms of reliability and cost efficiency within multidisciplinary teams.
You should have a good working knowledge of industry standards, e.g. PSSR , solid experience in the petrochemical industry (or equivalent) and experience of COMAH and MAH. It is desirable that you will be a chartered engineer.
