Based in the south of England, our client is a well-established company with a reputation for quality PCB design and manufacturing.
An exciting and varied role for a Production Engineer.
Create and maintain the Manufacturing Control Folders used as the Manufacturing Specification for each product.
Assist with assembly quotations.
Create and develop the manufacturing aids (including the Work Instruction Sheets and Manufacturing Specification Forms) and arrange tooling as required e.g. photo plots, AOI programs, Extra-eye programs, Mascot programs, Flying Probe programs, solder paste stencils, gigs, pick and place files.
Program SMT machines
Program AOI machine
Ensure equipment required for the job e.g. assembly line, test equipment, hand tools is specified in the control folder, available and working to the required standard.
Assist with the development of the Manufacturing Process for the Job to meet the required approvals and standards, including the health and safety requirements.
Input the Routings for the job into Syspro
Prepare and Plan the inspection requirements.
Assist with the validation of the assembly times for jobs utilising controlled time measurement procedures.
To perform such other and or additional duties within your skill and competence as the business requires.
Previous experience working in an electronics environment is essential.
Previous experience creating or managing working instructions or manufacturing control folders is highly beneficial
Trained to IPC Standards
Good communication skills
Understanding the process required to write a program for a piece of assembly/test equipment
Willingness to learn
Ability to read and understand Gerber data and ODB++ files an advantage
£25,000-£28,000 dependent on skills and experience.
