An exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer with experience of wireless communication systems to work in the electronics and controls team of a successful developer of alternative energy products. You will play a lead role in software development of the remote diagnostic system for an exciting new product range to be installed in homes throughout the UK.
Reporting to the Electronics and Controls Manager, the post calls for sound product development experience along with technical excellence within the fields of Wireless Communications, Databases, Electronics and Controls.
Key aspects of the role include:
• Be the lead software engineer for the development of the remote diagnostic system for a new products range.
• Be part of the core team that drives the design development of products through continuous improvement, and improved reliability.
• Identify opportunities for continual improvement and cost reduction of the controls package and aid in developing the product roadmap.

Applicants for the post of Software Engineer must have demonstrable experience of working with wireless communication systems; several years post graduate experience with GSM, GPRS, WIFI, Ethernet or ZigBee systems; experience in C/C++, databases / SQL server and client network systems and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary product development environment.

Ideally you will have a general interest in new energy technologies and bring both professionalism and enthusiasm to the role. You must be a strong team player with leadership skills, an effective communicator who is proven in completing tasks under pressure within agreed timescales.

You should be MSc or BSc (or equivalent) Qualified in Software / Computer Science, Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
