Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated CAD technician with experience to join their forward thinking and dynamic team of Engineers. The post is for a permanent position in the central London office in Victoria.|
You will work on a fascinating range of maritime projects both in the UK and overseas. You will gain a broad range of experience in the many different aspects of delivering maritime projects from options and feasibility studies through to detailed model and drawing production. We are looking for a versatile candidate who can adapt to our project specific requirements undertaking tasks that are likely to include:
Planning and production of CAD drawings
Take responsibility for and development and implementation of the company CAD procedures and BIM policies
BIM model production
Point cloud manipulation
Reinforced concrete and steel detailing
Producing bar bending schedules
Dredging / earthworks modelling
Assisting our team of engineers developing detailed solutions for our clients.
Undertaking site surveys and supervision of construction works when required
The role would suit a structural engineering technician with previous consultancy experience within the UK infrastructure industry. The ability to use Autodesk software is essential for this role and knowledge of Revit would be desirable.
Candidates with some experience of carrying out design calculations or the ambition to develop their knowledge within this area would be preferred.
Extensive 3D experience in Autodesk AutoCAD
Qualification to ONC or HNC level in Civil Engineering (or working towards)
Strong demonstrable interest in engineering and IT
Fluent written and spoken English
Experience in Autodesk Revit and Civil3D modelling software
Some experience in Bentley Microstation and AECOsim software
Knowledge of BS1192 standards
Candidates will be offered support to become a Technician member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Structural Engineers.
