Selected candidates will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment in the following areas: reactor plant instrumentation and control systems, steam and electric plant systems, power distribution, advanced power electronics, and power system applications. Position supports all fleet submarines, including Virginia, Ohio, Los Angeles and Seawolf Classes, and training.|
Responsibilities range from initial system and/or component design, upgrades, and life cycle support. Candidates will function as a project engineer overseeing all aspects of engineering tasks, including assurance of first time technical quality, working in a team environment, maintaining budgets and schedules, and interfacing with design and other engineering organizations. Candidates will also be required to evaluate and disposition system and component related questions and liaison inquiries from Naval Shipyards, Navy Forces afloat, land based prototypes, reactor plant prime contractors and NAVSEA. Selected candidates will be expected to effectively communicate within the organization as well as with NAVSEA, prime contractors, navy shipyards and equipment vendors. Newly hired personnel will be assigned a mentor to assist in learning the above roles and responsibilities.
