The lllustrator must be able to prepare high quality illustrations for technical manuals and maintenance documents using computer graphic software and established management systems to store and retrieve illustrations.|
The Illustrator must be able to utilize engineering drawings and other pertinent information to determine which component views (complete assembly, exploded view, or cutaway) will give the greatest clarity and be most effective to the end user. Ability to translate Engineering drawings and documents into exploded illustrations is required. Must be able to prepare illustrations of such components or systems as auxiliary power supply, guidance system, hydraulic system, and shipping containers, and such schematics and wiring diagrams as complex electrical and hydraulic systems where layout and arrangement details are essential to functional clarity. Must ensure that the final product meets customer technical requirements and are in accordance with military specifications.
An eye for design, detail and balance, as well as proficient drawing and Information Technology skills are required. Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a team environment are needed. Knowledge of printers, plotters, DPI, JPEG and TIF files to ensure quality of the final product is a plus.
This position requires a DOD CONFIDENTIAL or SECRET clearance.
