Electric Boat is looking for a chemist to provide technical support to laboratory technicians working on second and third shifts. The chemist will be responsible for reviewing work primarily associated with the nuclear water chemistry laboratory, maintaining technician qualifications and preparing various reactor solutions. The individual will also be expected to provide oversight and review for the atmosphere analysis laboratory and environmental chemistry laboratory along with other laboratories within the laboratory services organization.|
A BS in chemistry is required. Advanced degree preferred. Experience working in a laboratory with water chemistry and/or environmental chemistry background is a plus.
The individual must be able to work in a fast paced environment interacting with ship's management and laboratory technicians to provide staffing and laboratory results to the appropriate parties. The individual should be personable and able to directly work and interact with many individuals from tradespersons to managers. Individual will be trained as a radiation worker. The individual will work flexible shifts depending on the work load. This is a 2nd/3rd shift position.
