Quality Assurance Engineer |
• We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for developing and administering the elements of the Quality System, monitoring its implementation via the use of audits, and generating reports on its status. In addition, the selected individual will be required to perform the following duties:
o Given Technical Data Package (TDP), item specification and drawings, and process drawings from Engineering, develop Detailed Plan of Inspection for the item being manufactured, ensuring that the requirements of the TDP and supporting documents are met.
Assists Engineering, Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement Teams, in resolving quality related problems on the manufacturing lines utilizing the tools in the Statistical Techniques repertoire.
Revises Detailed Plan of Inspection in accordance with established procedures to incorporate changes requested by in-house personnel and/or customer/Government Representatives.
Reviews and approves Work Instructions pertaining to Manufacturing Operations.
Conducts internal/external process, product, and/or procedure audits in accordance with established procedures. Pre and post supplier award surveys are a part of this activity.
Utilizing metrics and other statistical techniques, monitors the quality of the manufacturing operation and reports on trends that require corrective/preventive action.
Assists Gage Lab Technicians in determining gaging requirements on programs assigned.
Assist Purchasing in developing qualified suppliers for materials, supplies, and services.
Develop systems for documenting the Cost of Quality for the products assigned.
Perform as the in-house authority on the product assigned.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
• MUST HAVE:
o Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or physical science with one to three years experience in Quality Assurance/Control or Associates degree in mathematics or a physical science with five years experience in Quality Assurance/Control.
Certified Quality Engineer’s (CQE) Certificate from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) with two years experience in Quality Assurance/Control.
Must be in pursuit of American Society for Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
Knowledge of Metrology, Nondestructive Testing, and Statistical Techniques.
Mechanical aptitude and experience in a metalworking industry.
Language Skills (ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate
orally or in written form effectively with coworkers and departments.)
Mathematical Skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.)
Reasoning Ability (with minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.)
Teamwork (actively participate in department/shift/team meetings), must perform as a team leader, and a problem solving agent).
Strong Leadership and Organizational Skills (Ability to direct and coordinate the work of a number of individuals within a department.)
