This position is for a 2nd shift Nuclear Test Operations Mechanical Supervisor. The individual will be responsible for the direction of testing on the new construction submarines, SRA's and other commissioned boats. The work requires interaction with CNTE's, ACNTE,s as well as STE's involved with reactor plant testing. Close communication with engineering is also required. The supervisor will direct between 4 and 8 test technicians in the installation and removal of test equipment. This supervisor is also responsible for reviewing test procedures and test drawings and providing feedback to engineering and management. Support is also provided for construction flushes, hydros, and purges in the shipyard, at Quonset Point, and at the Subase. This position requires working new construction and also within radiological areas and the applicant must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary PRCS (radiological) training to draw dosimetry. The individual should be able to instruct lesser skilled personnel in the requirements of prepared technical work documents. This supervisor may be required to support operations on 3rd shift during periods of 24 hour testing. Applicant must possess strong interpersonal skills.|
Required Education/Training: HS Diploma or Trade School Diploma required. Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years shipyard experience or equivalent Navy experience in mechanical operations specifically in the area of reactor plant fluid systems. Experience in Naval Nuclear Propulsion work is desired.
Working knowledge of Corporate Nuclear Power Manual desirable. Individual must successfully complete radiological training/qualification as a Production Radiological Controls Supervisor. Strong written and verbal skills required.
