Electric Boat site in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hourly Technicians – Ship Repair Tradespersons will be responsible for performing submarine shipboard installation and manufacturing work.  Candidates should be highly motivated, flexible and adaptable, with preferable (but not required) experience in naval submarine / shipboard maintenance and modernization. Tasks will require reading blueprints, following technical processes and procedures, and performing various trade functions. Employment provides training and qualifications as required to fully perform various ship and submarine troubleshooting and repair tasks, including shipboard machining, drilling, welding, brazing, pipefitting, shipfitting, electrical wiring and fiber optics. Candidates must possess appropriate verbal, written, and math skills to support shipboard construction, and must be willing to learn new skills and apply them as needed with the appropriate training and supervision. All candidates must be willing to support the company’s goals of safety, quality, cost, schedule, and continuous improvement.

Required Education/Training:    High school diploma / GED or equivalent required. Vocational school and/or military experience desired.   Experience: 0-5 years of experience in shipboard installation, repair and/or manufacturing environments. An entry/intermediate level position; EB is looking for aspiring and/or somewhat skilled tradespersons who will be trained and qualified to perform technical assignments with reasonable direction and oversight. Ability desired to use Navy ship’s drawings, technical manuals, ship’s system manuals, task group instructions (TGIs), and controlled work. Ability desired to perform basic functions of the trade crafts and to comply with procedural standards and policies in a safe manner.  

Candidates must be willing to travel and accept extended out of area work assignments, as well as various working shift assignments. A DoD secret clearance is required as a condition of employment. No relocation.
