Position is for an Engineering Supervisor that will be responsible for a group of Information Technology support personnel supporting the Reactor Plant Planning Yard (RPPY) and various other Programs at EB that utilize the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Network (NNPP Net). The NNPP Net is a classified local area network with over 1200 users at the various EB facilities including Groton, New London, Norwich and Quonset Point, and is connected to the Naval Reactors wide area network. Personnel in this section are responsible for maintaining the NNPP Net, which includes all aspects of computer hardware and software selection, installation and maintenance; user support; network development, assembly and maintenance; web development and maintenance and system security ; Personnel in this section also provide general IT support for the RPPY as needed. The selected applicant will be responsible for performance to budget and schedule, hardware and software expansions and refreshes, support of NAVSEA and DSS audits, self-assessments, system security, compliance with system policies and procedures and daily interaction with Naval Reactors, prime contractors and security personnel.|
BS degree in Engineering required. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field is preferred. Strong leadership and project management skills are required. Five plus years of experience is required. Network and/or Information Support experience is preferred.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of computer networks, computer hardware and software, budget and schedule management. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, business, and communication skills. The candidate must be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance for performance of the above supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge of the NNPP Net and EB policies and procedures are desirable.
