The Electric Boat Naval Architecture Department (D496) is responsible for determining the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic characteristics of submarines and providing waterfront hydrostatics support.|
Employees will perform hydrodynamic analyses of all classes of submarine. Analyses include hydrodynamic loading of flow-exposed structure, maneuvering analysis, hull & control surface shaping, and whole boat resistance.
This position requires frequent collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as the Computational Fluid Dynamics and Structural Analysis groups. It also requires frequent interaction with external customers and Navy Labs. As such, some business travel is required.
