This position is for a Planning Yard Program Representative to support Planning Yard and Fleet Support Material activities associated with all classes of submarines.|
The position requires an individual that can interpret technical requirements. General knowledge of Submarine design and maintenance requirements is a plus. The position will entail significant interaction with various customers, Government Agencies and Private Companies, as well as EB Program Offices, Contracts, Planning, Finance, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quonset Point, Groton and Kings Bay/Puget Manufacturing Departments. Candidates will be required to monitor and resolve issues with purchased or subcontract material, material ordering and scheduling, material charging, shortage resolution, and forecasting material requirements for alteration packages. The responsibilities of this position may expand to other special projects as programs develop. The candidate will assist with contract interpretation, resolution of technical issues, development of task statements, and planning for maintenance and modernization. Candidates are required to collect data from MRPII or PCM and prepare weekly material status reports for their assigned tasks, as well as report on monthly cost and other metrics performance. Candidates will be expected to become involved in on-going issues through their own initiative, and will be expected to assist in the resolution of emergent issues using independent judgment, ingenuity and creativity.
