Position Summary:
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff is currently seeking a Project Engineer (Engineer II) to work in our Orlando, Florida office. The candidate must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of transportation engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Should only need close supervision in areas where precedents are not clearly established.

This position offers challenging opportunities on fast-track projects to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions. Additional opportunities will be available to work with WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff's outstanding staff on a variety of world-wide projects. Work activities will include highway and interchange design, preparation of conceptual plans for planning and PDE studies, and final plans preparation.

Key Duties:
      • Design of various transportation projects ranging from minor projects to arterial, interstate and major design-build projects.
      • May be given independent assignments, which call for an application of specialized professional expertise
      • Determines client requirements and develops specifications, instruction, and makes appropriate recommendations
      • Ensures that production of specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
      • May participate in major segments of a project
      • May plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee the work of lower-level engineers
      • And other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Education / Experience Required:
      • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
      • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience including the preparation of roadway plans and supporting documentation
      • Detailed knowledge of the FDOT Plans Preparation Manual and other reference manuals as well as FDOT Design Standards and procedures
      • Strong background in Microstation, Geopak and other frequently used design software as well as MS Office
      • Drainage background along with a working knowledge of Geopak Drainage and ASAD a plus
      • Ability to work in the United States immediately
      • Local candidates preferred
      • E.I. required
      • P.E. preferred
