Our well-established client are recruiting for a Field Support Technician due to expansion. Job Title: Field Support Technician Department: Operations Reports to: Head of Customer Support Location: International Salary: 25k-30k dependant on experience, daily travel allowance, and other costs associated with travel ie: flights, taxis and hotels will be covered Job Purpose & Context The job holder will be a member of the Service & Support team and will be based largely overseas at high profile customer sites. He/she will be an excellent communicator and will ultimately ensure that our clients complex and innovative technology is upgraded and maintained efficiently and within the parameters of the Service Technical documentation. All upgrades and Field Service notes will be completed in a timely manner and to the strict Work Instruction and Operational Procedures as set out by the Head of Customer Support. The job holder will work independently but also operate as part of the larger team of engineers. He/she will have daily contact with the customer and will ensure the compliance to quality standards such as our clients QMS and ISO9001:2008 and to ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time. Our client's machines are very clearly specific as they are based on a large family of patents. Given the unique nature of our clients products and processes, each installation, upgrade and support of our machines is also unique. This position is a critical role in our client's organization as it is key to ensuring our client's machines are kept upgraded and to the latest specification as released by our client's in-house engineering and R&D teams. They therefore require the services of adaptable Service Technicians to be willing to travel constantly on a global basis to upgrade and maintain machines on customer sites. Their considerable knowledge of our client's products, processes and application which they acquire over the course of their employment will prove invaluable in this role as to will communication with the engineering and R&D teams be pivotal. Main Responsibilitie The upgrade and implementation of Field Service Notes at customer sites - 75%Machine maintenance & support - 10%Completion of Support documentation - 10%Effective liaison with the customer ensuring customer satisfaction and minimum downtime - 5% Additional Responsibilities Assist Global Operations in Field Support activitiesAssisting the Engineering and R&D teams in projects and activities as and when required Key Relationships and Interfaces Site CustomersMembers of the Global Operations teamEngineering teamR&D team Academic Qualifications HND / HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering Essential Experience & Skills Minimum of 3 years experience in a Service & Support role covering the following:-3 phase electrical engineering in an industrial environmentVacuum processing technology / semi-conductor industryCustomer involvementMust have excellent verbal communication skillsA proven ability to understand and interpret electrical & technical documentationMust be PC literate and demonstrate a good working knowledge of MS OfficeAbility to work overseas for extended periods of time and additional hours as requiredAbility to understand electrical wiring diagrams Desirable Experience & Skills Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD)Vacuum processing technology / semi-conductor industryMachine maintenanceMachine testing protocols Key Performance Indicators Meeting deadlines of project milestonesDaily and weekly reporting activitiesUpdating of the Service & Support DatabaseAbility to deliver to specification Jackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 19 NA strive to provide the ultimate consultancy service to all our candidates.
