Toolroom Engineer 24 - 26k base salary + O/TGlobal organisation37.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri) We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Toolroom Engineer to support the in-house requirements of the business for the production of tooling. This is a great opportunity to join and be an integral part of a well-established and globally recognised Industrial and defense business PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Producing new and refurbished tooling and / or making improvements to tooling (both moulding and assembly of products) Developing new and innovative tooling to aid manufacture Carrying out model shop activities for the support of development samples and tooling for NPI Machining tooling to exact tolerances Carries out such other duties that may be reasonably requested. Duties and responsibilities Experience of working in a fast moving sub contract batch manufacturing environment (preferably plastics)good project management skillsAbility to analyse, interpret customer order requirementsExcellent communication skills , motivator and developer of staffgood presentation skillsgood overall IT skillsgood problem-solving skillsAn excellent understanding of manufacturing processesknowledge of manufacturing quality standardsthe ability to handle responsibility and make effective decisions under pressurethe ability to work to deadlinesa willingness to work flexiblyA full and updated understanding of health and safety NA knowledge of working with Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) (efacs) system Experience Time served apprenticeship within a tool making environment Experience working as a Toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician or Toolmaker Working knowledge and experience of mould tool manufacture Working knowledge and experience of assembly tool manufacture Working experience of CNC mills and lathes Technical Knowledge Knowledge of machining to exacting tolerances using various methods, i.e. grinding, turning and sparking, etc Knowledge of tool manufacture Ability to work to Engineering drawings Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements Skills and Competencies Ability to demonstrate skills required to produce detailed tooling (i.e. Milling, turning, grinding - cylindrical and surface, spark eroding and bench fitting Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team Ability to develop ideas with other Engineers We will endeavour to respond to all applicants, but if you do not receive a response within 5 working days, please consider yourself unsuccessful on this application.
