Our client is an international leading aerospace manufacturer and have a long term contract postion for a CNC Machinst based at their site in Coventry. This is a role is a fixed weekend shift pattern - 12 hours Friday,Saturday & Sunday and candidate will need to be prepared to work early, day and nights. Working as part of a high performing team, the successful applicant will be responsible for machining a combination of OGV assemblies, Front & Rear Cases for the Trent family of engines in a technically demanding aerospace market working to manufacturing / engineering drawings, instructions, specifications & standards. Responsible for delivery of all the components associated with the team's accountabilities, the successful applicant must be able to work on their own initiative and be flexible in the range of tasks performed; additional tasks to be performed are fitting & de-burring. All employees will be set a lean improvement objective each year focussing on driving waste out of the business and improving our processes. Active participation in improvement activities will be required. Please be aware this role is for a permanent weekend shift covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday over both day and night shifts. Skills Required Time served engineering apprenticeship (machining - milling/turning) Familiar with CNC Control Systems (Siemens and Fanuc preferable) Machining components of varying complexities from 1 to 3.5 meter diameter to close and exacting tolerances Setting and operating 5 Axis CNC Machines Working with a range of Aerospace materials, including Titanium, Armco and Aluminium Champions role responsibility (Asset care, OEE, lean improvements) Knowledge of Asset care & OEE data collection Use & understand a wide variety of different measuring equipment Interpretation of Manufacturing Instructions & drawings Working to Standard Operating Procedures Lean manufacturing knowledge Low level machine and fixture maintenance HPC knowledge and application Competencies required A good team worker who is willing to support others Open, trustworthy and reliable Able to solve problems and make decisions without direction Positively influences others Drives for results Able to prioritise Advantageous Skills Secondary skills will include fitting / de-burring and vane NA turning / vertical boring skills would be advantageous. Education Time served engineering apprenticeship (machining - milling)HNC in manufacturing engineering preferable Industry Experience Aerospace engineering production background with knowledge and application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques Interview Competency based face to face interview
