We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to work in one of our large international businesses, at their Birmingham factory. The candidate will be required to work on the 6am to 2pm shift pattern, Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday in peak periods. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Maintenance engineers are responsible for maintaining and servicing plant machinery and facilities to ensure effective and issue free running Dealing with major breakdowns/failures of plant machinery, facilities and utilities Finding solutions and new initiatives to continually improve the running of the plant The following are essential functions, duties and responsibilities of the job, other duties may be assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance engineer and may vary due to business necessity: To fully integrate the companies top four priorities of Safety, Quality, Service & Efficiency in to the role To fully comply with all company policies and procedures and to adhere to GMP and BRC rules and standards To service and maintain the following plant machinery and facilities in the cup room utilizing the preventative maintenance system on the production monitor. Including: Baggers checks and servicing sheets INCS and INCS Baggers, Casers, BIFS, Conveyors Cup Machines, Bead Area Equipment Print and Print Baggers To maintain the equipment and facilities in the Boilers room and Pump House and Bead Room to include: Preventative electrical maintenance work highlighted through the monthly check Testing and dealing with minor faults electrical equipment Vibration analysis Chemical testing, paper work and usage sheet Maintaining chemical stores Maintaining dosing tank levels To carry out replacements and inspections on the following: Limit Switches, Production Monitor, Timers, Sensors, Fuses, Mac & Soleniod Valves, Electrical Contactors, Relays, changing Logics and Static Bars. Perform Building Maintenance to: Sprinkler systems Fire Prevention Systems Fire Pump Testing Refueling Diesel pump and generator Completing all relevant paperwork associated with the job and filling appropriately including SSOP Rebuilding various machine parts Carry out acid washes on molds Performing relevant QC tests Shutting down and making safe (using LOTO) machinery that cannot be repaired or kept running To be considered for this vacancy you must have: A background in pneumatics, hydraulics and general mechanical work combined with a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering. Completed a related apprenticeship. The ability and passion to solve mechanical problems. A safe approach to their work. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A flexible approach to their work and hours where required. Good level of literacy and numeracy is a must
