Our client a leading distributor of control and automotive who have been serving the industry for over 35 years are seeking a Sales Engineer based in Southampton. Job Purpose: Achieve sales targets, (turnover and profitability), through the development of new and existing business within a targeted area. Utilise high levels of interpersonal skills to develop long term relationships with customers ensuring that their requirements and business needs are interpreted and managed effectively. Successfully persuade customers by utilising strong industry knowledge and technical expertise to deliver technical and business solutions. UK Sales & Business Development Key Objectives 2016/17: Grow complementary products within all accountsGrow net profitIncrease KAM scoresSpending account retentionNew spending account developmentKey franchise review meetingsE-commerce trading account increaseSenior management visitsCTC reviews / margin maximisationTraining needs managementNew Prospect account managementCRM maintenance / Sales Management ToolsMonthly business unit reviewsMonthly sales engineer reviews Responsibilities/Accountabilities Effective territory planning in order to maximise customer contact, proactive telephone canvassing and a call rate of 16 customer visits per week is expected, reported weekly and NA achievement of sales targets (turnover & profitability)New trading account NA sales calls in a professional manner, ensuring that customers needs are explored extensively. Utilisation of Product Specialists and other company resources to add value is an absolute NA that all business systems and CRM sales reporting requirements are updated accurately and on a weekly NA with all franchise partners to ensure continual awareness of new and updated products, and keeping customers informed of new NA marketing activities by keeping accurate contacts on the CRM system, making customers aware of events and also by attending seminars, product launches and other marketing NA to various audiences on a range of subjects, including the clients value proposition, product demonstrations, services and commercial NA adherence to operational NA customer focused with a can do attitude at all NA ownership and responsibility of customer issues to bring them to satisfactory NA accountable for personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with our clients core competencies and learning and development frameworkTakes on additional tasks in order to meet departmental, project related or developmental NA with H&S policy and procedures Skills, Knowledge and Experience A good standard of education is required, particularly in Maths & NA effectively handle the technical requirements of this position, Sales Engineers should have a good level of technical understanding, ideally qualified to ONC level in electrical engineering. Sales engineers without this level of qualification and QBE will be subject to technical knowledge NA and motivational skills are critical requirements for the NA job requires the ability to finish projects and take tasks through to their natural NA day to day planning capabilities are an essential for satisfactory performanceTechnical interests, specialist skills and experience are important for long term successPrevious experience within a commercial / business to business sales environment is essential, preferably within a manufacturing environment. **Please note, due to high levels of response, only successful Candidates shall be contacted.
