This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 1-2 years' experience in a similar role to assist the Production Manager in day to day tasks whilst gaining experience in a supervisory capacity. You may also be a qualified engineer with demonstrable experience looking to develop into a supervisory / managerial role. As well as the skills and experience highlighted below, you will have a sleeves rolled up attitude looking to take the next step in your career and be willing to learn and develop your existing experience and skillset. The Role: The Assistant Manufacturing Engineer will be involved in continuous improvement activity & projects. The Assistant Manufacturing Engineer will develop, project manage & implement improvements in Production / Operations activities that lead to a safer environment, higher quality & lower cost product utilising modern lean manufacturing techniques. You will constantly drive to error-proof production process and support Production teams on a day to day basis with technical support, advice and problem resolution. The Candidate will ideally have: 1-2 years' experience as practical Manufacturing Engineer ORYou may also be a qualified engineer with demonstrable experience looking to develop into a supervisory / managerial NA of machine tool processes (cutting, drilling, milling, linishing etc.)Project Management skillsComputer Literate - Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPointSelf-motivation and driven personality Responsibilities: Seeks to continually improve quality, reduce manufacturing cost and improve associate NA modern lean manufacturing techniques, to deliver the NA and manage external tooling NA of SOPsProvide technical support to the supervisors, and production staff where requiredWork with the quality and service departments to solve quality issues on site and in production/NA identify root causes of problems and implement true fixes (poke-yoke)Lead, support & project manage improvement and capital investment projects In return for the above you will enjoy a competitive salary & benefits package.
