2 x IT Support Technician Leamington Spa 2 year fixed term contract 20k per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a Public Sector Organisation needing to urgently recruit an IT Support Technician to cater for the high demandThe role will require a technically skilled IT Professional to work within a fast paced environment within a team of Service Desk Analysts resolving 1st line queriesThe organisation currently forecast an increase in demand over the next 12-18 months and requires assistance on a number of responsibilities including setting up remote workers and migrating users to other buildingsThis will be on a rota basis between the hours of 8am - 8pm with sometimes the scope for Saturday work when the projects demandPlease note: UK Driving License/own car is highly desirableOther responsibilities include: Providing the IT department`s First Line support service to agreed Service Level Agreements and Priorities Operating within protocols and service standards to provide fault/issue diagnosisIncident logging, resolution and escalation to second-line support where necessary Processes and resolves Service Requests, tracking progress of these through the IT TeamTo participate in the departmental shift rota undertaking early and late shifts including operational maintenance and event monitoringSupporting the IT Infrastructure: access to systems, printing, user setup and configuration, account maintenance, general use of windows based and Citrix systems etcSupporting the continued operation of the Association`s IT systems, covering support on Servers, PCs, laptops, printers and dumb terminals, including hardware, software and configurationThe installation, configuration, management and support of IT hardware and softwareTo contribute towards customer IT department Communication and PR including: Active communication in case of major incident; Communication around changes and new developments affecting usersTo visit other offices in relation to the support and maintenance of the IT Systems and promotion of the serviceTo build and maintain positive working relationships with service users To proactively contribute to and utilise the IT Knowledge base Keep abreast of departmental changes and identify and address underlying problems Asset and Configuration and Management: Day to day maintenance of CMDB within Service Desk system with strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Successful applicants will have the following skills: Experience in Windows based infrastructureSupport experience in a Microsoft and Citrix environment, covering Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Exchange, File and Print, Citrix user support Educated to BTEC/HNC/Degree/Apprenticeship in a computer related vocation or equivalent, i e Microsoft Certified Professional (or willing to work towards) ITIL V3 Foundation or working knowledge of ITIL frameworkHardware Configuration and Support Please send across your updated CV as soon as possible to
